Bryan Boy, Adrienne Landau and Fur Scarves
Anyone who has ever taken even a passing interest in the fashion blogosphere has undoubtedly heard of New York blogger Bryan Boy, née Bryan Grey Yambao of the Philippines. Whether he is seated in the front row at Fashion Week or blogging about his latest and greatest internet finds, Bryan Boy has cultivated his own brand of street style chic that is full of modern and offbeat references that have helped to mould the street style revolution into what it has become today.
Though he has been hounded by multiple brands over the years, each wanting to collaborate with him on a project, what would become his first ever collaboration actually happened almost by accident. Boy was in the showroom of well-known fur and accessories designer Adrienne Landau when he asked if they had some samples of their fur scarves in bright orange. They did not.
That day, an idea was born, and the subsequent collaboration between Boy and Landau is the lovechild of this idea. Their timing couldn’t have been more perfect; technicolour fur was all over the fall runways this past season, and with the cold weather fast approaching, fashionistas are very much in the mood to up the ante of their cold weather wardrobes with a well-appointed bit of whimsy. The offbeat yet utilitarian items in the collaboration include bowties, scarves, camera straps, cowls, and hats, all crafted from technicolour fur; a luxury item transformed for everyday use. Items are, as boy puts it, “accessibly-priced” for the market, with everything coming-in at under $600.
